This treatment is particularly effective for targeting stubborn fat in areas such as the chin, jowls, upper arms, armpits, waist, hips, saddlebags, back of the neck (buffalo humps), chest (pseudo-gynecomastia), above the knees, and inner thighs. It uses an ingredient called deoxycholic acid, a secondary bile acid. Desoxycholan-acid destroys fat cells; the cell residue is then removed by the body by metabolism and conversion of the fatty acids to energy to reduce the targeted excess fat.
A treatment with Aqualyx does not result in weight loss; it minimises localised areas of stubborn fat. Three to five appointments are recommended, with 4-week intervals for successful results alongside a healthy and balanced diet and exercise.
This treatment begins with a doctor consultation. A face-to-face assessment of the treatment area is required to devise the best plan of action including pre and post care for optimal results. Using thin, flexible cannulas, Aqualyx is injected directly into the subcutaneous fat tissue. The amount of treatments varies according to the dimensions of the fat deposit and the individual reactions of the fat tissue. On average you will expect to have around 1 to 2 appointments for chin with a 4 week interval.
The chin is a small area and typically only requires 1-2 sessions. Larger body areas tend to need 3-6 treatments as the amount of fat and resistance tends to be greater. Session numbers will vary according to individuals and lifestyle/health factors.
Results are cumulative and once swelling has subsided you will begin to notice the treated body area transform. Each session will provide maximum benefits at three months.
