Lower Blepharoplasty
Rejuvenate Your Eyes
- Reduces under-eye bags
- Softens dark circles & hollows
- Improves lower eyelid contour
The skin and underlying structures of the eyes are the thinnest on the body, making them especially susceptible to the effects of ageing, genetics, and other lifestyle factors. This can result in loose skin, puffiness, and fine lines, which contribute to a tired or aged appearance.
Lower blepharoplasty is a minor surgical procedure that smooths and rejuvenates the lower eyelids. Blepharoplasty is also widely recognised as one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgical procedures worldwide and is highly effective, with minimal downtime.
You may be a good candidate if you:
A full consultation with our medical team will determine whether lower blepharoplasty is the right procedure for you. During your appointment, we will conduct a thorough assessment, discuss anaesthetic options, and create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your goals. Pricing will be confirmed after your consultation, based on your under-eye condition and individual needs.
The procedure is typically performed in-clinic under local anaesthetic, often with light sedation to ensure comfort and a quick recovery. For more extensive corrections, or if preferred by the patient, it can be performed under general anaesthetic in an appropriate clinical setting.
If excess fat is the primary concern, the incision is usually made inside the eyelid using a transconjunctival approach, leaving no visible external scar. When loose skin requires tightening, a small incision may be made just below the lash line to remove or reposition tissue.
Some swelling or bruising is expected for 7–10 days and gradually subsides. Stitches, if used, are generally removed after one week. Most patients feel comfortable resuming light activities within a few days (depending on individual healing). They can return to normal routines and exercise within approximately two weeks, as advised by their surgeon. Full recovery usually takes 10–14 days, although this can vary from patient to patient.
Results continue to improve over several weeks as healing progresses, revealing a smoother, brighter under-eye area. Outcomes are long-lasting, although natural ageing continues.
As with any surgical procedure, minor side effects such as temporary swelling, bruising, or mild asymmetry can occur. Following your personalised aftercare plan is essential for achieving the best possible results.
In addition to lower blepharoplasty, we also offer upper blepharoplasty for patients with droopy or hooded upper lids, and in some cases, both procedures can be combined in a single treatment plan.

Lower blepharoplasty does not affect your vision. However, an upper blepharoplasty may help improve your vision if sagging upper eyelids are obstructing your view.
Discomfort is generally mild and easily managed with pain relief. Most patients describe tightness or soreness rather than pain.
We will provide you with all the information you need prior to the time. However, we generally advise our patients to avoid smoking, certain medications, and alcohol before surgery.
Usually, after 10–14 days, once healing is complete. Keep in mind that everyone heals at their own pace. If the area does not feel fully healed after 14 days, we strongly advise waiting until it is completely healed before wearing makeup or contact lenses.
Results are long-lasting, typically 10 years or more, though the natural ageing process continues.
